Rusting Hulks is one of the Squads from Into The Breach.

Description[edit | edit source]

RST Corp. weather manipulators allow these Mechs to take advantage of smoke storms everywhere.

This squad strategy revolves around using electrical damage from the smoke tiles it produces.

Strategies[edit | edit source]

  • Camila Vera and her 'Evasion: Mech unaffected by Webbing and Smoke.' ability is almost essential for this Squad. Place her in your Jet mech so it does not get caught up in its own smoke unable to do another bombing run. This will be even more apparent when you have +Range and are smoking 2 tiles at a time.
  • The Rocket Mech can be moved next to a Vek and the rocket fired in the opposite direction hitting nothing but dropping a smoke cloud on the Vek and preventing its attack.
  • Pulse Mech 'Shield Self' should be an early unlock. The shield will active whenever Push is used even if you don't push anything. It can then be used to block damage or sit indefinitely on a hole refreshing it's shield each turn.
  • Prioritise upgrading +1 Damage on your Rocket and Jet over Smoke damage early on. The smoke from your jet will cancel out the Vek but you will want to make sure your Rocket Kills it's target. 
  • Aerial bomb can be used to limit the movement of the Veks as they will avoid moving into smoke.
