Jet Mech is a Brute-class mech in Into the Breach.

Team[ | ]

The mech is available as part of the Rusting Hulks squad.

Strategy[ | ]

Remember that Smoke cancels enemy attacks, so even if the Jet Mech can't kill a Vek, it can stop it from doing any damage. In the Rusting Hulks squad, keep in mind that electric smoke will also passively damage and eventually kill worn down enemy Vek.

Due to the leaping nature of the Jet Mech's attack requiring an empty tile to land on, it is easy to get stuck in Smoke itself. Therefore, Camilla Vera can be an excellent choice for a pilot.

Utilizing the Jet Mech’s ability to launch itself over Vek can be invaluable for both damaging enemies and improving its position for subsequent turns, particularly with +1 Range upgraded. By attacking from different angles and at different distances, it can quickly gain the advantage using the smoke to cancel enemy attacks and restrict their movement, as enemies will avoid moving into Smoke if they have other options.

The Jet Mech does well staying close to Vek spawns thanks to its direct attack utility and high starting movement, but it can also be quite frail at 2 HP to start. Consider increasing it as soon as it is feasible, as this will also allow it to land on spawn points more freely after it attacks.

Under a Custom Squad, the Jet Mech can be used alongside the Smog Mech as well; the smoke it leaves behind can be used with Nanofilter Mending to repair it and other mechs, including repairing disabled mechs to revive them.
