Hook Mech is a Brute-class mech in Into the Breach.

Team[ | ]

The mech is available as part of the Blitzkrieg squad.

Strategy[ | ]

In its default Blitzkrieg squad, try using the Hook Mech as a conductor to make the Lightning Mech hit more enemies; it will only take 1 damage from a base Electric Whip in the early game, thanks to having natural Armor.

The Grappling Hook will pull movable objects (other mechs, Vek or rocks) towards it, and will pull itself towards immovable objects (such as Civilian Buildings, Mountains or objects and enemies that are Stable). The Shield Ally upgrade can be situationally useful if looking to extend the Electric Whip whip chain with an otherwise frail unit, but is not as important to get as additional movement and HP; movement will help it get the most out of Grappling Hook and position itself to create longer chains, while additional HP will be necessary for it to endure more hits when the Electric Whip weapon is upgraded.

The Hook Mech has no direct damage output, so consider purchasing a damaging weapon for it. Alternatively, consider letting Kazaaakpleth pilot the Hook Mech, to provide it with an attack immediately through his ability. Another good pilot choice is Prospero, as he can let the Hook Mech fly, allowing for better positioning and greater control.
